2010 Legislative Breakfast Series

The Johnson County Public Policy Council, which is comprised of nine Johnson County area chambers and the Greater KC Chamber of Commerce, sponsors the annual Legislative Breakfast Series to enhance the communication and exchange of information between the business community and the Johnson County state legislative delegation. Legislators will offer legislative updates and discuss issues. Breakfast is served promptly at 7:30 a.m. Casual attire is recommended.

Individual admissions are $20 for Chamber members and $25 for non-members. The discounted Chamber member package price for all five breakfasts is $95 when paid by noon on January 19.

Infrared Sauna Therapy Helps Prevent Colds and Flu
Cold and flu viruses love cold air, which means the recent spate of cold weather in Kansas City is the perfect environment for an outbreak uptick. According to Leawood Chamber member, Sunlighten™, warm air—from infrared sauna therapy—can help prevent colds and flu.
An Austrian study found that people who spent time in an infrared sauna twice a week got half as many colds as those who didn’t. Researchers theorized that the sauna’s warmer air is too hot for flu and cold viruses to survive. In fact, the idea of infrared sauna therapy for cold prevention was highlighted on national television just last week as an alternative medicine secret.
