"Sunday in the Park with George"

The Leawood Stage Company is pleased to present a concert style production of the Broadway musical "Sunday in the Park with George" in the Lodge at Ironwoods Park, 14701 Mission Road, Leawood, KS 66224.

Friday and Saturday October 15th and 16th, performances will begin at 8:00 p.m. Evening performances will be table seated “Dessert Theater”, featuring dessert and beverages for $10 per person or $70 per table of 8.

A free Sunday matinee on October 17th will be theater style seating with no food or drinks beginning at 2:00 pm.

The show, "Sunday in the Park with George", with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, and book by James Lapine was inspired by the painting “A Sunday Afternoon of the Island of La Grande Jatte” by Georges Seurat.

"Sunday in the Park with George" is one of the most acclaimed musicals of our time. This moving study of the enigmatic painter Georges Seurat won a Pulitzer Prize for its deeply insightful and highly personal examination of life through art and the artist. Each year, the Leawood Chamber of Commerce honors individuals and/or businesses that have helped the Leawood community in an extraordinary way.

We will recognize these outstanding community builders at the 2010 Annual Meeting Luncheon on December 14th at the Overland Park Convention Center.

We are currently requesting presentation proposals for the Leawood Chamber’s 2011 Business Education Programs.  The sessions we are seeking presenters for are tentatively scheduled for February 2011, March 2011, April 2011, August 2011, September 2011, and October 2011.

Sunlight Day Spa Throws Open the Doors for Chiefs Celebration on October 15

October 15 at noon at 7373 West 107th Street in Overland Park

To celebrate its selection as this week’s winner of the Kansas City Chiefs Get Your Red On! Office Party, Sunlighten and Sunlight Day Spa decided to invite the whole city.
