Effective October 31, 2011, CrossFirst Bank and CrossFirst Bank Leawood (formerly Town & Country Bank) will officially merge. The two banks owned by CrossFirst Holdings, LLC, have been operating side-by-side for some time now, and they couldn't be happier to combine resources as one institution.
Many of the CrossFirst Bank bankers located in Overland Park have already moved to the extraordinary CrossFirst Bank Leawood location at 4707 West 135th Street. The remaining team members will relocate there, and their Overland Park location will permanently close, at 5 p.m. on October 31.
For the original CrossFirst Bank customers, nothing changes with the exception of their physical location. CrossFirst encourages you to stop by and see their beautiful new headquarters at the corner of 135th and Roe. An additional advantage of the Leawood location is that customers may bank using the drive-up lane and ATM. For customers' convenience, the Leawood drive-up is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. The lobby is open until 5 p.m.
CrossFirst Bank continues to offer some of the most attractive rates in the area. If you are interested in learning more or depositing additional funds, please contact any of their Relationship Bankers at (913) 327-1212. You can also call that number for any questions about the new move or merger.

On Tuesday, October 11th, Leawood Chamber of Commerce members and guests, gathered for the first ever Leawood Chamber Market Luncheon. The event marked one of the biggest turnouts of the year for Leawood Chamber Luncheons with a sold out attendance of 118 people.
The event’s venue Leawood South Country Club, allotted guests room to mingle, visit exhibitor tables and enjoy the great BBQ that was served. There were a total of 16 exhibitor tables that lined the perimeter of the room. Each exhibitor showcased a great display of who they are and what they have to offer. Each exhibitor generously gave away at least one door prize to one lucky attendee that had a minimum value of $25. The Leawood Chamber made the door prize drawing a bit more exciting by adding five $75 Visa gift cards to the mix.
“We were thrilled with the interest and response we received from both the exhibitors and attendees for this new event. The feedback that we were able to gather following the event from both groups was further proof that a worthwhile time was had by all,” said Chamber President and CEO, Kevin Jeffries.

Students in the Blue Valley School District continue to perform at the highest academic levels, as evident in the annual Standard of Excellence report from the Kansas State Department of Education. All schools within the district earned the Standard of Excellence in reading and 32 schools earned the Standard of Excellence in math.
The Standard of Excellence is awarded to schools where a larger percentage of the students score in higher performance categories and fewer score in the lower tiers on the Kansas Assessment tests.
Of the 234 possible opportunities for achieving the Standard of Excellence in reading and math, Blue Valley earned 233. If science is included in addition to reading and math, Blue Valley schools earned 265 out of 267 possibilities.
“We are thrilled with these outstanding results,” said Tom Trigg, superintendent. “I am extremely proud of our students, teachers and principals for their hard work.”
Earlier this fall, Blue Valley was also notified that for the ninth year in a row, the district and all of its schools made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) in accordance with the No Child Left Behind Act.
According to research conducted by the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Blue Valley is the only district in the nation with more than 20,000 students to have achieved AYP in every school, grade and subgroup for all nine years AYP has been in existence. On the reading assessment, 97.4 percent of Blue ... (go to www.leawoodchamber.org for more information)
