2007 Annual Meeting-The Spirit of Entrepreneurship

Join Will Shields, former offensive lineman for the Kansas City Chiefs, at SAFEHOME’s Will Shields “Red Flags of Domestic Violence” Flag Football Tournament. This event  raises awareness and funds for SAFEHOME’s services for victims of domestic violence in our community.

Coed check-in begins at 7:00 a.m. and games begin at 8:00 a.m., Open check-in begins at 11:30 a.m. and Open games begin at 12:30p.m. All participants receive a tournament shirt and gift bag. 1st and 2nd place teams receive trophies.

5th Annual Gift Gallery

The Gift Gallery is an unique, upscale event sponsored by the Mothers of Young Children organization at Cure of Ars Catholic Church. 35 local artisans come together to sell their beautiful, handcrafted items.

Proceeds from the event is donated to local children's charities. $4500 was donated last year to Camp Tekawitha, Operation Breakthrough, St. Benedict's Special Children Center, and Cure of Ars School combined.

Assistant Marketing Director Position Available

Fulk Chiropractic is in need of an Assistant Marketing Director to grow the clinic’s patient base through relationship-building, event planning, lectures, and through marketing communications.  

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 1. Performing spinal screenings at various venues and events all the while developing relationships with prospects and scheduling new patients. 2. Networking at various chamber functions. 3. Supervising and setting the schedule for direct marketing associates and discussing events with the doctors to ensure that all hours at events are covered. 4. Providing a single point of contact for logistics (including set-up and tear-down) at all marketing events. 5. Hiring and training new marketing staff.

Employment Standards: College degree with a concentration in Marketing, Business, or Communications preferred but not required.

Required Skills: Good communication skills; Assertive and innovative – able to work without supervision; Needs good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications.

Leawood Chamber Member Recognized in Kansas City Star Article

On October 24th, an article titled Home is where the heartache is, was printed in The Kansas City Star.  The writer, Gene Meyer, informed readers of the different resources to use when dealing with the death of a parent and how organization can make things easier.   

In the article Leawood Chamber Member Alexandra Bortnick, owner of Alexandra, A Senior Moving Specialists , is mentioned as one of the first in the area to help senior citizens and their families in the process of moving to a smaller home.  Alexandra states that "just having a plan is the key thing."
