Join us in celebrating "The Spirit of Entrepreneurship" at the 2010 Leawood Chamber Annual Meeting and Hall of Fame Awards luncheon.
This two hour event is open to the public and provides a way for the Chamber to connect with 300 area business and community leaders. Our scheduled guest speaker is entrepreneur Gene Bicknell.
Gene Bicknell is the founder of 5 companies: NPC International Inc., the world’s largest Pizza Hut Franchisee with 1,100 stores and 35,000 employees nationwide; Pitt Plastics, Inc., manufacturer of polyethylene can liners and other types of packaging and storage bags; National Mills, Inc., manufacturer of t-shirts and provider of other screen printing services; Zouire, national promotional apparel and supplies company; and M.S. Productions, Inc., an oil development and reserve operation. Gene also founded the O. Gene Bicknell Center for Entrepreneurship in the Pittsburg State University College of Business.
We will also recognize our 2010 Hall of Fame Award Recipients.

Chamber Office Closed in Observance of Thanksgiving
The Chamber office will close in observance of Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 25th and Friday, November 26th, 2010.

Hoefer Wysocki Architects Celebrated Grand Opening
On October 22nd, Hoefer Wysocki Architects, LLC (HWA) marked their grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony and celebration. Leawood Mayor Peggy Dunn, Leawood City Council member James Azeltine, Leawood Chamber members, and HWA staff were on hand for the festivities.
Founded in 1996, Hoefer Wysocki Architects is a full-service architectural, planning, and interior design firm. After 14 years of steady growth, they moved their headquarters from the Country Club Plaza to Leawood. They moved into the top floor of Pinnacle III, an existing 108,000 square-foot building of their our design, located in the Pinnacle Corporate Centre campus, developed by Block Real Estate Services.

Blue Valley Recreation was honored by Bridging the Gap for taking steps to protect and enhance the environment.
Presenters noted that Blue Valley Recreation was recognized because the agency believes that taking steps to improve their environmental impact is part of being a responsible organization.
