Join us in celebrating "The Spirit of Entrepreneurship" at the 2008 Leawood Chamber Annual Meeting and Hall of Fame Awards luncheon.
This two hour event is open to the public and provides a way for the Chamber to connect with 300 area business and community leaders. Our guest speaker is Cliff Illig, Vice Chairman and co-founder of Cerner Corporation & co-owner of the Kansas City Wizards.
This year's Hall of Fame inductees are Peggy Dunn, Mayor of Leawood, and Robert "Bob" Regnier, Chairman, President & CEO of Bank of Blue Valley.
Individual tickets are available for this event. For more information, call the Chamber office at 913-498-1514, or email chamber@leawoodchamber.org. Individual admissions are $50 for Chamber members / $60 for non-members.

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Legacy and Scholarship Award Committee, along with the Olathe Kansas Branch of the NAACP, is excited to announce its’ fifth annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Legacy and Scholarship Award Banquet. This is the largest Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration in Johnson County.
This year’s Legacy Award recipient is Mr. Leonard Zeskind, a write, researcher, and expert resource on racist and anti-Semitic groups. For more than twenty years, he has worked to monitor Klan, neo-Nazi, and other white supremacist activity and has publicized his findings in America and Europe. He is President of the Institute for Research and Education on Human Rights. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Jewish Community Relations Bureau/American Jewish Committee.
Throughout the evening, student essay scholarship winners will read their essays honoring Dr. King’s legacy with their poignant thoughts on:

At its November 24 meeting, the Leawood Chamber Board of Directors took action to revise the Chamber Bylaws to increase the number of Directors from 13 to 15.
