Join us for lunch and conversation with Leawood's State Senators Terrie Huntington and John Vratil and Representative Pat Colloton before they head up to Topeka for the 2011 legislative session.

The Chamber will present Leawood's delegation with our 2011 Legislative Priorities, and then each elected official will give a short presentation on what they feel will be the hot issues in Topeka this session.

Seating is limited. Individual admissions are $25 for Chamber members and $30 for non-members.

YMCA Day at the Chiefs

Join the YMCA of Greater Kansas City for the Kansas City Chiefs game vs. the Tennessee Titans at noon on December 26. Tickets are available for a terrific, discounted price! For every ticket sold, the Chiefs will donate $10 back to the YMCA of Greater Kansas City.

It's part of the Chiefs Give Back fundraising program. Visit a YMCA center near you for tickets, or order tickets online. When you order tickets online, you will choose the YMCA center where you would like to pick up the tickets. Please note that tickets are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Seats will be guaranteed together only if you purchase all tickets together in one transaction. Ticket cost does not include parking. Tickets must be ordered by Wednesday, December 15 and will be available for pickup after 12 p.m. on Monday, December 20 at the center where you purchased the tickets or the center you chose when you ordered the tickets online. Order now! A limited number of tickets are available. Ticket sales will end before December 15 if tickets available at this discount rate sell out.

Ring in the New Year at NoRTH

NoRTH has created a special three-course dinner that is perfect for you and your loved ones to enjoy as you ring in the New Year. The first course is your choice of Italian Winter Soup, Slow Braised Short Ribs, Trio of Crab, Organic Greens with beets and goat cheese, or Artichoke and Fondue. Course two includes a choice of Lentil Ragout, Filet Mignon, Pan Roasted Scallops, Grilled Rack of Lamb or Noana “Two Ways” Chicken. Lastly, the third course is a choice of Butterscotch Pudding, Chocolate Nutella Cake or Vanilla Mascarpone Cheesecake.

This three-course prix fixe menu will be offered at an early evening special price, from 4:00 until 5:30 p.m., and the menu will continue to be available throughout the rest of the evening from 5:30 p.m. until close. Chamber Office Closed in Observance of the Holiday

The Chamber office will close in observance of the holiday on Friday, December 24th. The office will reopen on Monday, December 27th.

Johnson County Wastewater named a MARC Success Story

Johnson County Wastewater’s submission to the 2010 Sustainable Success Stories Call for Exemplary Policies, Programs, Practices or Projects was chosen as one of nine honorees. The department’s submission was the Douglas L. Smith Treatment Plant’s Cogeneration Project. The Mid-America Regional Council collected 25 submittals in all that spanned the areas of Energy Efficiency and Conservation and Water Quality Conservation.
