KC Symphony Small Ensemble Holiday Concert

Kansas City Symphony presents: A small ensemble holiday concert!
Concert begins at 7 pm with a reception at 6:30 pm in Regnier Hall auditorium.
This performance is part of the Kansas City Symphony’s Community Connections outreach program designed to bring the symphonic experience directly to your neighborhood.
In addition, for these special events KU Edwards Campus is teaming up with Temporary Lodging for Children. Please bring a new item for a child in the shelter home program. The program serves youth ages 11-18 who have been abused, neglected or are experiencing some kind of family disruption. Suggested items: gift certificates, underwear, socks, pajama pants, sweatshirts, long sleeve shirts, slippers, mittens, scarves, hats, body spray/lotions, belts, earrings, puzzles, board games and cards.
Aging in Place Initiative Offers Workshop

Join a select gathering of key innovators and representatives from across the Kansas City Metropolitan Area and contribute to a national conversation on aging co-hosted by Johnson County Area Agency on Aging, the Mid-America Regional Council, the Shepherd's Center Kansas City Central, and the Wyandotte/Leavenworth Area Agency on Aging.
The Kansas City Metro Area was selected to host the third in a series of dynamic workshops highlighting the opportunity to improve livability for all ages. Housing's Role in the Metropolitan Area will create an environment where local decision makers and community leaders can identify key areas to enhance housing choices for older adults and together facilitate taking action in creating housing options for a livable community.

Leawood Chiropractic Now Open
Leawood Chiropractic celebrated its opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The Leawood Chamber of Commerce assisted with the ceremony and Mayor Peggy Dunn cut the ribbon with Dr. Lehi Swan.

LEADING LOCAL DESIGNER DECKS THE HALLS AT THE OVERLAND PARK CONVENTION CENTER
One of Kansas City’s most talented and leading floral designers, Kelly Acock, adds a special touch to the Overland Park Convention Center for the busy holiday season.
Guests to the center will enjoy the artistic seasonal décor by Acock who owns The Monarch Flower Company. Monarch is featured in Nell Hill’s Feather Your Nest: It’s All in the Details, the latest interior design book by retail entrepreneur and design guru, Mary Carol Garrity.
“We asked Kelly to bring the winter Holiday spirit to our guests that is colorful, classy, and makes you feel good. We knew she could pull that off,” says Nadine Guest, OPCC GM.
For those who want to decorate like a pro this season, Acock gives her ‘10 rules to decorate by’ on the Overland Park Convention Center’s website, www.opconventioncenter.com. The website will also feature weekly decorating tips from the designer throughout the season.
