The South Metro Parkway Study has been underway for 2 years and was led by Mid-America Regional Council. MARC studied the potential routes between US-69 Highway in Kansas and US-71 Highway in Missouri near the 179th Street corridor.
There are currently no good routes between these highways south of 135th Street. The need for a connection has been recognized for a long time, and was even identified in the MARC perimeter needs study.
