11th Annual 'A Taste of Leawood' Event

'A Taste of Leawood,' one of the area's premier events, is now entering its eleventh year! Enjoy a casual evening of music, spirits and culinary splendor from the area's finest establishments under the stars in the Leawood City Hall Courtyard.

The Leawood Chamber is pleased to announce that a new band, Souled Out, will be performing at this year's event. Patrons will enjoy tantalizing cuisine from new area restaurants along with area favorites, all at one location!

Fashion For A Cool Planet Raises Awareness & Dollars For Clean Water Fund Leawood, Kansas.
April 21, 2008, Satoraum Salon Beauty Wellness introduces “Fashion 4 A Cool Planet” to benefit The Midwest Clean Water Fund.

The overall challenge for Satoraum's creative team was to create today’s looks, seen on the runway and in fashion magazines, from “green” alternatives such as organically grown or recycled materials, vintage and used clothing.

Tickets are $5.00 each and can be purchased at Satoraum in advance or at the Raul’s door the night of the show. The salon is located at 151st and Nall in Leawood, Kansas (913) 851-2956.

Satoraum Creative is a division of Satoraum Salon Beauty Wellness and is led by Arthur & Marsha McClennen Hall who have a thirty year history as a veteran global educator/ hairdresser and beauty industry sales executive.

Sam's Club Celebrates National Small Business Week

Monday, April 21- Friday, April 25 Sam's Club will be celebrating National Small Business Week.

Any time during that week, business owners who come into Sam's Club, along with a current suppliers invoice, and allow us to compare our price to what they are paying elsewhere, will be entered in a $100,000 makeover drawing for their business.

Need an Up-To-Date Contact List of Local Businesses?

Have you ever thought it might be useful to have a contact list of representatives from local businesses? Well look no further. That is just one of the many services the Leawood Chamber provides to its Members.

Jackie Warren from ARTichokes took advantage of the contact list and according to her, "I would say it has been very helpful. We have an average of 400 hits a day for our website, so it has been a great tool."

The contact list is updated daily by the Leawood Chamber staff. The cost is $50 and includes an email, mailing, and fax list of representatives from local businesses.

ARTichokes Uses Chamber Website to Attract Customers

ARTichokes is a great example of how taking advantage of the resources made available through the Leawood Chamber can help stimulate business.
