Hillcrest Transitional Housing of Kansas is a program that moves homeless families to self sufficiency. Families receive fully furnished apartments and live there free for 90 days while they go through an intensive program on how to become and remain self-sufficient. Ninety-five percent of families that complete the program become self-sufficient.
Hillcrest is currently in a capital campaign and renovating 31 units to increase the number of families they serve. To help with that effort, Hillcrest is seeking volunteers to assist with Administrative Assistant duties at their KCK counseling center.
Volunteers would donate one day a week to answering questions about the program, giving tours, doing data entry, and organizing all things Hillcrest.
Interested parties should email Becky Poitras at bpoitras@hillcrestkc.org or call 816-694-7849.
