Thank You to This Year's A Taste of Leawood Volunteers

Every year the planning and preparation for A Taste of Leawood, is a long and time consuming process. However, the end result is always a great community event, in which many Chamber members and residents throughout the region look forward to year after year.

With a limited number of Chamber staff, we heavily rely on volunteers to help with many aspects of the event from wine glass stuffing to check-in at the event, and so on.

Chamber staff wants to extend our most sincere gratitude to the following individuals for giving up their time to ensure that A Taste of Leawood is a successful fundraiser for the Chamber. It is because of each of you, along with our generous sponsors, we are able to do what we do.

2011 A Taste of Leawood Deemed a Sold Out Success

On Saturday, June 11th, Leawood Chamber of Commerce members, and residents of the community and surrounding region, gathered to celebrate the 2011 A Taste of Leawood. This year’s event marked the biggest one in its 14 year history with more than 600 tickets sold. The event was officially sold out as of the Thursday prior. Chamber staff attributes the growth in ticket sales to the perfect weather and increased advertising and marketing.

The event’s new venue, Leawood City Park, allotted guests plenty of room to mingle, dance and enjoy the incredible cuisine from the 20+ participating restaurants. Patrons danced the night away to the tunes provided from the band Souled Out, and relaxed in the casual yet classy ambiance. The greenery from Rosehill Gardens and the statue from Eva Reynolds Fine Arts, helped add elegance to the event site. The complimentary shuttle, provided Town Village Leawood, helped get attendees to and from the event site.

The gift bag that each attendee went home with, was filled with an overwhelming amount of gift cards, valuable vouchers, and promotional items that more than covered the cost of each ticket with savings.

“We are so grateful for the support that we received this year from the number of sponsor businesses who chose to be involved with this event. It is because of organizations like these, who care about the community in which they do business, that enable us to pull off an event tha ... (go to www.leawoodchamber.org for more information)
