The Leawood Arts Council will provide “Grinnin’ & Groovin’” entertainment for the entire family each Tuesday in June. The event series continues with a concert by Dino O’Dell on June 22nd.

Kevin Dolan, as Dino O’Dell sings and dances in this celebration of cultures. His Jamaican reggae, English ska, German polka and American rock & roll, rap and country music will have kids dancing. This interactive concert encourages kids to sing and motion with the lyrics. Kevin Dolan is an award-winning songwriter who has performed with reggae, Dixieland, punk, folk and rock bands. Kevin is an elementary school teacher-turned-children’s rocker. For six weeks each winter he is a teaching artist for the Seattle Opera, bringing opera to elementary schools.

This outdoor performance will be held at the Ironwoods Amphitheater in Ironwoods Park at 147th & Mission Road. The program will begin at 9:30 a.m. and end by 10:30 a.m. In the event of rain, the event will be held in the Lodge at Ironwoods Park. Introducing Midwest Cancer Care at Menorah Medical Center

Midwest Cancer Care at Menorah Medical Center, part of HCA Midwest Health System, unveils the new face of cancer care to the business community from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2010. Attendees at this special open house will have an opportunity to tour this advance cancer diagnostic and treatment facility on the Menorah Medical Center campus; meet David Bouda, MD, medical oncologist; and talk with the doctors and nurses who comprise the cancer care team. Refreshments will be served.

Shawnee Mission Medical Center Hosts Juzo Open House on June 25th

Shawnee Mission Medical Center’s Sante Image Renewal Boutique and Salon will host an open house June 25, 10 am - 4 pm, to offer information about the Juzo product line of support stockings and socks.

A representative from Juzo will be at the boutique to answer questions and discuss how Juzo support products can help improve circulation. All Juzo products will be discounted during the event.

Physician Joins St. Joseph Medical Center

E. Ragnar Peterson, MD, recently joined the medical staff of St. Joseph Medical Center. Dr. Peterson is board certified, experienced in a wide range of general surgery procedures with a special interest in advanced laparoscopic procedures.
 
Dr. Peterson is a native Kansan and a graduate of the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He completed his residency with the University of Kansas Medical Center and was in private practice in Texas and Iowa before returning to the area.

Dr. Peterson is with The Surgical Group of Kansas City located just south of I-435 at Wornall Road.
