University of Kansas Professor, Dr. Dennis Rosen, will be presenting Customer WinFluence® -- how to make small changes in interaction with customers to improve perception of service and affect the bottom line. With a Ph.D. in psychology and over 20 years of both academic and industry experience, Dr. Rosen has the background to improve customer service and sales.
Understanding what is happening in your customer’s mind can be the key to improving your sales, customer service and your bottom-line results.
Changing your thinking is also important. For example, are sales and service opposites or do they work together? Is it better for your business to view customer service as a goal or as a system? And how can one really meet the needs of customers to increase sales? Dr. Dennis Rosen will answer these questions and many more to improve your sales and customer service.
For more information on Dr. Rosen, visit his web site at http://www.winfluencesolutions.com.

St. Joseph Medical Center has named Marcia Herpich Employee of the Year. Herpich, the department assistant for Nursing Resource Management, has been with the medical center for almost 15 years and has worked in several departments, including Well•Life and Human Resources.
Herpich’s responsibilities center on coordinating the scheduling of nurses and nursing assistants for Carondelet Health. "Each day, I strive to keep the adequate number of nurses and nursing assistants so that we can provide safe patient care and also remain cost-effective,” explains Herpich. Herpich is also the go-to person for the Float Pool staff, nurses and nursing assistants who fill the vacancies due to call-ins and fluctuation in census.
Herpich says she was surprised by the Employee of the Year award. “I think our nurses really deserve the award; I refer to them as my angels,” says Herpich. “When we are in need of additional staff, they come to my rescue. They go above and beyond every day. I just make the phone calls – they are the real heroes who come in and take care of our patients.”
While some people might avoid it, Herpich says talking on the phone “all day long” is the best part of the job. “I love talking with people, and I love the nurses I work with,” she says. “I know most of the nurses on the units I schedule for—at least I know their voices. I may not know their faces.”
