Sunlight Day Spa Plans Pampering for Women’s Shelter

Sunlight Day Spa is gathering donation items for Newhouse Women’s Shelter, located in Kansas City, Missouri. Sunlight Day Spa and its patrons began collecting products in honor of Mother’s Day and are extending the collection time through June 18th. Donations can be dropped off at the spa at 7373 West 107th Street in Overland Park.

The shelter, which aids women in breaking the cycle of domestic violence, has a particular need for personal care products including body wash, soaps, lotions, perfume, nail polish, makeup, and hair care. Spa staffers plan to deliver the donations in baskets, and offer complimentary spa services to the shelter’s residents. “These women are typically so focused on securing living arrangements and ensuring safety for themselves and their children that they don’t think about pampering themselves,” said Sunlight Day Spa Manager, Heather Holder. “We wanted to offer a little serenity.”

Sunlight Day Spa specializes in healing and stress relief through a variety of therapies. The spa was voted one of the top day spas in the metropolitan area in KC Magazine’s 2010 City’s Best competition, and earned Best Retreat and Best Massage Therapist Honors in the 2010 Readers Choice issue of 435 South Magazine.  To learn more, visit http://www.sunlightdayspa.com or http://www.s ...
