A growing concern for KC companies is the challenges they face in recruiting new employees from outside of the KC market. Recruiting the 25- to 34-year-old, single, college-educated professional, as well as college graduates from the East and West coasts, is of special concern.

Our guest speaker will be Roxanne Elliott, Talent Recruitment and Marketing Manager, with the Kansas City Area Development Council. Learn how KCADC is gearing up to attract the "young and restless" to the KC region. You'll learn more about who this group is, why they are so important and how they think differently about cities.

KCADC will also share the latest tools available to attract and retain talent to KC through their talent recruitment initiative, KC2.0. From print publications and new videos to an online jukebox streaming local bands, they're ready to arm your company for success with your most desired job recruits.

Don't miss this informative program and the chance to make new business connections! The reservation deadline for this event is Friday, July 11th by 5:00 pm!

Johnson County will host meeting on Sales Tax Proposal

Johnson County government will host an informational meeting on a quarter-cent sales tax for public safety at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 22nd, in the lower level of the Johnson County Administration Building, 111 South Cherry St. in Olathe.

The proposed tax, which will be on the August 5th countywide primary election ballot, is a continuation of a quarter-cent tax for public schools that is scheduled to sunset at the end of 2008. The public safety tax has no sunset. It would raise about $19.6 million a year for county public safety projects and operations, plus additional money for municipalities.

Your colleague can send a simple e-mail message, day or night, and make the introduction using CV|Vision.
