The Leawood Chamber of Commerce and the Johnson County Public Policy Council are hosting a "Meet the Candidates" reception featuring the Republican primary candidates for Kansas Governor. This is a great opportunity for you to meet the candidates and ask them about the issues that are of greatest importance to you and your business.

There will be a brief program at 5:45 pm where each candidate will give a brief presentation.

Please RSVP to no later than 5 p.m. Friday, July 14.

The Lenexa Conference Center is located at the Southwest corner of Lackman Road and College Blvd.

The Johnson County Public Policy Council is composed staff and volunteers of the ten Chambers of Commerce that represent Johnson County and the more than 5,500 member businesses collectively represented.

The Leawood Stage Company presents the musical theater production of Oklahoma July 20, 21, 22, 23 and July 27, 28, 29. Curtain at 8:00 nightly. Pre-show dance by DanceWorks Conservatory on Saturday nights at 7:00 pm. Bring a lawn chair or some seating is available. Picnics are welcomed. Corporate sponsorships for individual nights are still available. Call April Bishop for sponsorships.

Leawood Citizen's Police Academy

If you live or work in Leawood, now is your chance to find out what its like to be a police officer. The Leawood Citizen's Police Academy gives participants the opportunity to experience first hand what it's like to be a Leawood Police Officer. For 10 weeks, participants will learn about the police department and, through a variety of practical exercises, be able to see for themselves what being a police officer is like. The Citizen's Police Academy also gives our citizens the opportunity to develop relationships with police officers as well as foster a partnership with the Leawood Police Department.
 
During the course of the academy you will learn about:

The Leawood Chamber and Overland Park Chamber joined co-owners Sebastien and Brianna Saint-Ouen as they dedicated their new facility at 6759 W. 119th Street.  Along with a variety of freshly baked breads and danishes (aka Viennoiserie), they offer breakfast seletions, coffee, and lunch ittems.

Stop by for a taste of France, right here in our area.  They're open Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. until 6 p.m.
