University of Kansas Professor, Dr. Dennis Rosen, will be presenting Customer WinFluence® -- how to make small changes in interaction with customers to improve perception of service and affect the bottom line. With a Ph.D. in psychology and over 20 years of both academic and industry experience, Dr. Rosen has the background to improve customer service and sales.

Understanding what is happening in your customer’s mind can be the key to improving your sales, customer service and your bottom-line results. Changing your thinking is also important. For example, are sales and service opposites or do they work together? Is it better for your business to view customer service as a goal or as a system? And how can one really meet the needs of customers to increase sales? Dr. Dennis Rosen will answer these questions and many more to improve your sales and customer service.

Auditions for "Sunday in the Park with George"

The Leawood Stage Company will hold auditions for Sunday in the Park with George on Saturday, July 17th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and Sunday, July 18th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the Lodge at Ironwoods Park, located at 147th & Mission Road.

Sunday in the Park with George with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim is one of the most acclaimed musicals of our time, this moving study of the enigmatic painter Georges Seurat won a Pulitzer Prize for its deeply insightful and highly personal examination of life through art and the artist.

Directed by Barb Nichols, this Leawood Stage Company production will be presented “concert style”. Interested parties should be prepared to sing 32 measures from any musical with live accompaniment. An accompanist will be provided so all those who audition are requested to bring sheet music in their key. Bring a photo and resume if available. No appointment time is necessary.

Help set a Guinness World Record—A Green One!

Bring your old monitors, computers, cell phones, televisions, VCR’s, faxes, and other small electronics to an Electronics Recycling Event Saturday, July 17, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 119th and Ridgeview, Olathe (Sunset parking lot at 11811 S. Sunset Drive).

The Johnson County Environment Department and Extreme Recycling, sponsors of the event, hope to set a record for the most electronics recycled in four hours. A modest fee will be charged for monitors and TV’s, but there is no charge for other electronics. Michael E. Sanderl Named Carondelet Health’s Vice President, Mission Integration

Michael E. Sanderl, EdD has been named Vice President, Mission Integration, for Carondelet Health. Sanderl, started in his new position on Thursday, July 1.

Sanderl comes to Carondelet Health from Dominican University in River Forest, Il., where he served as director of University Ministry. He previously served as Dean for Mission and Ministry, faculty member and resident director at his undergraduate alma mater, Saint Mary’s College of California.

Sanderl received his doctorate in education, with an emphasis in Catholic educational leadership, from the University of San Francisco, his master’s degree in theology from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, and his bachelor’s degree in religious studies from Saint Mary's College of California. He brings a background and passion for Catholic identity, as well as the successful development of mission integration programs and structures.

“Carondelet Health has a long history of service with compassion and respect,” says Sanderl. “I welcome the opportunity to help Carondelet Health meet the challenges of the future while staying true to our heritage to best serve our patients and the community.” 

Sanderl has provided service on the boards of national Catholic organizations and participated at the local, national and international levels on Catholic educational initiatives. Michael and his wife, Stacey, live in Leawood, KS.

Shawnee Mission Heart & Vascular Center Recognized by American Heart Association

The Shawnee Mission Heart & Vascular Center has been awarded the Get with the Guidelines Gold Award from the American Heart Association for its treatment of heart failure. The Heart & Vascular Center was recognized for achieving at least two years at 85 percent or higher adherence to all Get with the Guidelines program quality indicators to improve quality of patient care and outcomes.

FOX 4 Summer Slam
