Membership Luncheon - Customer WinFluence®

Jul. 20, 2010, 11:30 at Ritz Charles Overland Park, 9000 W. 137th Street, Overland Park, Special Events 66221
Cost: $22 members, $32 non members (paid in advance).

University of Kansas Professor, Dr. Dennis Rosen, will be presenting Customer WinFluence® -- how to make small changes in interaction with customers to improve perception of service and affect the bottom line. With a Ph.D. in psychology and over 20 years of both academic and industry experience, Dr. Rosen has the background to improve customer service and sales.

Understanding what is happening in your customer’s mind can be the key to improving your sales, customer service and your bottom-line results. Changing your thinking is also important. For example, are sales and service opposites or do they work together? Is it better for your business to view customer service as a goal or as a system? And how can one really meet the needs of customers to increase sales? Dr. Dennis Rosen will answer these questions and many more to improve your sales and customer service.

For more information on Dr. Rosen, visit his web site at http://www.winfluencesolutions.com.

CHILDREN OF EDEN

The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection and The Culture House are combining efforts to produce a spectacular production of Stephen Schwartz’s “Children of Eden”. Stephen Schwartz, most currently of Wicked fame, is the composer behind this beautiful score.

Based on the characters and situations from the Biblical characters in the book of Genesis, Schwartz has written a completely new story around the study of the deep and complex relationship between a parent and their children. Set in familiar settings, the Garden of Eden and Noah’s Ark, Schwartz examines the consequences of authority, growing up and finding maturity.

Performances will be held at Church of the Resurrection July 9-11. Evening performances are at 7:30 pm and the matinee is at 1:00 pm Saturday, July 10. General Admission tickets are available online. Also, tickets will be available on weekends after all worship services starting June 26. See www.cor.org/boxoffice or call 913-544-0767 for additional information.

Crème de la Crème - Gains Accreditation Once Again

Crème de la Crème School hosted a Quality Assurance Review visit on May 10, 2010, and received their North Central Association / AdvancED accreditation for another five-year term!

This process engages the entire school community in a continuous process of self-evaluation, reflection, and improvement. It invites external scrutiny and welcomes the constructive feedback of peers. It demands rigor, is based in data, and approaches documentation of results with discipline. Schools and districts benefit from accreditation through objective peer review, attainment of high standards, and engagement in continuous improvement. Through accreditation, schools and districts receive an external mark of quality; become part of an international network of 23,000 schools and districts in 65 countries; and gain access to a wide range of resources, professional development, and tools to assist them with continuous improvement. Perhaps more importantly, students benefit from accreditation because, through the accreditation process, their school or district has committed to raising student performance and will be held accountable for improving student learning on a continual basis.

Dr. Nancy Bolz, director of Kansas NCA, stated that “Crème de la Crème School is to be commended for choosing to engage in a process that increases the quality of education for their students beyond the compliance of the state’s required Quality Performance Accre ...
