The speaker for the August Luncheon & Debut will be Soren Petro from 810 WHB Radio, the host of "The Program". Soren Petro is from the Kansas City region and graduated from Shawnee Mission East. He has worked in radio for many years. His show, The Program, has consistently been at the top of the ratings. The Program features segments like the “Two Minute Drill”. Every Monday and Friday, the Drill covers the big sports stories around the country, with the people who cover them in their own city. The Program also features weekly, in-season segments with the players on the field. He turns the lunch hour into must-listen radio. “The Program” brings a wide array of guests – local and national – and other features such as “Stump the Chumps” on Fridays, challenging listeners to their sports trivia knowledge.
In addition, our newest Chamber members will be presented in our quarterly "Chamber Debut". Attendees will receive a description from each business that has joined the Leawood Chamber in the past 90 days.
Chamber Members: As an added benefit, members will receive via email a spreadsheet with contact information of all the other member attendees at the event. This is another way we're working to make sure the Leawood Chamber is a great networking resource for Chamber members.

"Tee it Up" SAFEHOME's18th Annual Golf Tournament

SAFEHOME, Johnson Country’s only provider of services for victims of domestic violence, will host its 18th Annual SAFEHOME Golf Tournament on Monday, August 8, at Nicklaus Golf Club at LionsGate, 14225 Dearborn St., Overland Park, KS. This four person scramble at one of Kansas City's premier golf clubs will offer a great day of golf. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start beginning at 9:30 a.m.
The cost to play is $175 per player. Price includes 18 holes of golf, lunch, beverages, gifts, snacks, hole contest and prizes. This year’s tournament is made possible by Presenting Sponsors Kenny Thomas’ Olathe Toyota and Lee Jeans.

Ambassadors...the Chamber's Unsung Heros
The Leawood Chamber of Commerce (LCC) consists of three full-time employees, and two part-time employees. This set of five people are responsible for 40+ networking events a year, all Chamber publications, the Chamber's website, and the constant effort to promote every Leawood Chamber member. As you can imagine, each person on the LCC staff wears many hats and always has a "to do list" a mile long.
Therefore, the Chamber looks to a certain group of volunteers from member businesses to assist in the welcoming and greeting of new members and existing members, as well as retention efforts. This group is called the "Ambassadors."

MBB Selects Leawood’s Park Place
Kansas City-based advertising agency Muller Bressler Brown announced today plans to move to a new office space located in the Park Place development in Leawood, Kan. The 25-employee firm is scheduled to make the move later this year.
“As we have expanded our services over the past few years, we’ve known an office move was on the horizon,” said Phil Bressler, partner at MBB. “After a lengthy search across the metropolitan area, we are excited we found a space that best fits our agency’s vision for growth, business development and office design.”
MBB is partnering with Clockwork Architecture & Design and Opus Design and Build for the completion of the 8,500-square-foot space. “The design will reflect the creative heritage MBB is built upon and continues to deliver to our clients today,” Bressler said. “The design features an interesting blend of work spaces designed to maximize creativity and collaboration, including an elevated brainstorming area.”
“We are very excited that Muller Bressler Brown has chosen Park Place as their new home and we look forward to the creativity and innovation the agency will add to our dynamic development,” said Rebecca Garry, director of marketing at Park Place. “MBB joins a variety of other companies that are already taking advantage of the Park Place environment and its on site dining, shopping and hospitality.”
