A growing concern for KC companies is the challenges they face in recruiting new employees from outside of the KC market. Recruiting the 25- to 34-year-old, single, college-educated professional, as well as college graduates from the East and West coasts, is of special concern.
Our guest speaker will be Roxanne Elliott, Talent Recruitment and Marketing Manager, with the Kansas City Area Development Council. Learn how KCADC is gearing up to attract the "young and restless" to the KC region. You'll learn more about who this group is, why they are so important and how they think differently about cities.
KCADC will also share the latest tools available to attract and retain talent to KC through their talent recruitment initiative, KC2.0. From print publications and new videos to an online jukebox streaming local bands, they're ready to arm your company for success with your most desired job recruits.
Don't miss this informative program and the chance to make new business connections! The reservation deadline for this event is Thursday, July 10th by 5:00 pm!

Approximately 550 people gathered on June 21, 2008, to take part in the 11th annual celebration, A Taste of Leawood. Those who attended planned on an evening sampling wines and food from 18 of Leawood area’s finest restaurants.
No doubt the only colors on their minds were red and white, the colors of wine. Most likely recycling and thinking “green” wasn’t a consideration. But as soon as guests entered the event held at Leawood City Hall’s Courtyard, they began to see how the Chamber incorporated environmentally conscience planning into the party’s framework.
First, every guest received a souvenir wine glass that was reused throughout the evening. This glass proved to not only be a lovely memento, but an excellent way to cut down on waste.
The Chamber also sought out the help of Keep Kansas City Beautiful, an affiliate of Bridging the Gap. This organization offers solutions to those wishing to host green events. Supplies were ordered from Keep Kansas City Beautiful, allowing the Chamber to recycle all the aluminum cans and plastic bottles from this year’s celebration.

As Chamber President & CEO, Kevin Jeffries, explains, “We wanted ... (go to www.leawoodchamber.org for more information)

CV|Vision produces and hosts multimedia Curricula Vitae or CV (Latin for Course of Life) that enable our clients to showcase their professional assets and personality in a brief but comprehensive manner.
The CV is a powerful tool for executives in transition. According to the Department of Labor, 75% of all jobs are found through referrals and it’s over 95% for professionals. Networking is the most important but hardest aspect of a search. We help with that hardest part.
Our clients are introduced by friends and colleagues to their colleagues, selectively. Introduced! Not just “referred.” Colleagues really do want to help you find that perfect job, but it has to be easy for them--and on their schedule. Your colleague can send a simple e-mail message, day or night, and make the introduction using CV|Vision. Recipients will almost certainly view your CV because they received it from a colleague or friend.
Networking shouldn’t stop when you land a new position. Secure employment is an illusion. It’s imperative to continue building your network. CV|Vision enables you to do this--easily. We take your image seriously and handle all th ... (go to www.leawoodchamber.org for complete profile)
