Please note this month's new location!

The speaker for the August Luncheon & Debut will be Soren Petro from 810 WHB Radio, the host of "The Program". Soren Petro is from the Kansas City region and graduated from Shawnee Mission East. He has worked in radio for many years. His show, The Program, has consistently been at the top of the ratings. The Program features segments like the “Two Minute Drill”. Every Monday and Friday, the Drill covers the big sports stories around the country, with the people who cover them in their own city. The Program also features weekly, in-season segments with the players on the field. He turns the lunch hour into must-listen radio. “The Program” brings a wide array of guests – local and national – and other features such as “Stump the Chumps” on Fridays, challenging listeners to their sports trivia knowledge.

In addition, our newest Chamber members will be presented in our quarterly "Chamber Debut". Attendees will receive a description from each business that has joined the Leawood Chamber in the past 90 days.

Chamber Members: As an added benefit, members will receive via email a spreadsheet with contact information of all the other member attendees at the event. This is another way we're working to make sure the Leawood Chamber is a great networking resource for Chamber members.

Are you tired of being tired and behind all the time?

The world is moving faster every single day - and it moves exceptionally fast for business owners. If you don't have a good foundation for productivity, if you're not consistently getting things done, then you are getting buried and at risk of getting left behind!

What if you had a clear handle on everything that had to be done (and what didn’t) along with a proven way to process all of that information overload? Today you’re getting overwhelmed with noise and there’s no apparent way to catch up...! You need a proven system and you need to start leveraging the technology you already have to help you be a productivity machine. There’s not a silver bullet out there, but you can start adding extra hours to your day with some fundamental changes.

Shawn Kinkade with Aspire Business Development works with business owners to help them get the traction they need to take their business where they want it to go. Helping his clients be more productive is part of that equation. In this 90 minute workshop you’ll learn the 2 most important components to being productive along with several tactics you can implement quickly and start seeing benefits right away. Whether your problem is having too much to do and not enough time to do it or just being overwhelmed with interruptions and an inability to stay organized, this session will set you on the right track. Everyone is getting farther behind every day because of all the complexities of life and technology in 2011.

It was a great opportunity for our new representatives to learn more about the Chamber and how to maximize the value of Chamber membership.

Did Someone Say They Wanted Less Emails From the Chamber?

On Monday, August 15th, the Leawood Chamber will begin sending one email each week that summarizes all upcoming Chamber events, rather than individual Chamber event announcements. This event summary email will be called the G.O.A.L. (Goings On Around Leawood).

We will continue to send our Friday Member Memo that includes Chamber and community events, and news and announcements.

We always strive to keep our members informed. Therefore, please be sure to review both the Member Memo and the G.O.A.L. and use the links in each to register for events, or visit leawoodchamber.org.

We welcome your feedback by ways we can improve the usefulness of this new tool. We value your membership and look forward to continuing to work together as we “build connections, build community.”
