On Friday, September 28th, the Kansas Speedway will once again host a metro-wide event before the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Qualifying & Practice Day activities.

World's Largest Truck Convoy

Motorcyclists have bike rides for charity and runners have races, but for the longest time truckers have not had a charity event to call their own. The wait is over for truckers in the Kansas City area as the 2007 World’s Largest Truck Convoy (WLTC) rolls into town on September 15, 2007.

The WLTC will begin and end at EMBARQ®, 600 New Century Parkway, Gardner, KS. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. and the convoy rolls down the highway at 11:30 a.m. Truckers and trucking companies are encouraged to register now for this worthwhile event! The registration fee is per truck and includes participation in the convoy, goodie bag, lunch and entertainment.

To participate, vehicles must be of 10-GVW (gross vehicle weight) or larger, drivers must sign a waiver of liability and show a valid drivers license and proof of insurance prior to participation. All proceeds from the WLTC will support Special Olympics programming through such items as medals, meals, competition venues and sporting equipment. Free Car Seat Checks

Did you know that 4 out of 5 car seats are installed incorrectly?

Free car seat inspections will be available on Saturday, September 15th, October 27th, November 24th, and December 29th at City Chevrolet located at 555 W. 103rd Street in Kansas City, MO. The inspections will take place from 10:00 a.m. to - 2:00 p.m.

Certified Technicians will inspect your car seat and make sure it is installed correctly. If you do not have a car seat and need one, City Cheverolet can help!

Socks in September

Davidson Promotional Products Inc. is having their 2nd Annual SOCKS IN SEPTEMBER sock drive.

Last year we collected over 4,000 socks. These socks were donated to Hillcrest Ministries, TLC in Olathe and Crosslines. There are many adults and children in the Kansas City area that are in need of basic essentials and new socks make such a difference to them.

We will come by and pick up your donations or you can bring them to our office at 16120 Foster, Overland Park, Ks. Please give us a call at 913-851-9100 if you would like for us to pick them up. Everyone who makes a donation gets a SOCKS IN SEPTEMBER cup.
