Dennis DuPont of Bank Midwest will lead a class for those who want to improve their ability to remember little things within conversations. Learn how to remember names, points within the conversation, and other small facts that seem to slip away at the wrong time.

Presentation is from 8 - 9:30 a.m. with registration, coffee and pastries and general networking beginning at 7:45 a.m. Limited to the first 16 registrants.

As a company, Davidson Promotional Products has always wanted to have a project that we could give back to the community. Starting September 1st we will “kick off” our first annual SOCKS IN SEPTEMBER
drive.

As a company we have become aware that there are organizations in the Kansas City area that are in need of socks of all sizes to keep people warm during the winter months.

We would like to offer a challenge to everyone to go sock shopping. When you donate 3 pairs of socks we will give you the 1st annual SOCKS IN SEPTEMBER t-shirt. You can bring the socks by our office at 16120 Foster or give us a call at 913-851-9100 and
we will come pick them up and bring you a free t-shirt.

Join Virtuous Reality for a Yada Yada Junior Event – It’s more than just talk!

Yada Yada Junior is more than just talk; it’s a movement among women that emphasizes virtue. Yada Yada Junior will be coming to The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection on Saturday, September 16, 2006. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and programming begins at 9:00 a.m. lasting until 3:00 p.m. The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection is located at 13720 Roe Avenue in Leawood, Kansas.

The conference is designed to help 3rd – 6th grade girls and their mothers build a foundation of virtue, such as moral excellence, purity, strength and worth. The event consists of worship, led by The Joey Witham Band and main sessions taught by Austin-native Susie Davis, author of Time of Your Life, and Nancy Rue, author the The Lilly Series.

The event also consists of separate breakout sessions for 3rd – 4th grade and 5th – 6th grade. In addition, breakout sessions will address issues common to each age demographic such as From Cooties to Crushes, Mean Girls, It’s a Family Thing, and Fear Factor.

They expand the old parameters and breathe new life in to standards with harmonies and strong rhythms creating a voice of their own. The Doug Talley Quartet performs a brand of present day Kansas City Jazz.

Leawood Chamber Announces Staff Addition

The Leawood Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the hiring of Stephanie Scholfield as the Director of Events and Communication, effective September 25, 2006.

Stephanie is a graduate of Kansas State University, and has 8 years experience in the banking industry. She has extensive experience in customer service and event planning. Stephanie has attended numerous chamber of commerce functions while with her previous employers, and is excited to expand and enhance the events hosted by the Leawood Chamber and our member businesses.

Leawood Mayor Peggy Dunn Receives Special Honors

Leawood Mayor Peggy Dunn received special honors last Thursday at the Annual Meeting of the Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City. The City of Leawood is a sister community to the Gezer Region in Israel, for which Gezer Park at 133rd and Mission is named.
