07/12/2013 – Parisian Summer Street Fair and so much more
LEAWOOD, Kan. (July 10, 2013) – Make plans for the street party of the summer as Park Place hosts "Paint the Night" on Saturday, July 27. The free event will be filled with a Parisian twist on everything, including live music, street performers, entertainment, fashion, food and drink, art and more. Park Place will close the transformed Ash Street and 116th Place, Leawood's downtown-style Main Streets in to a full-blown Parisian Street Fair where the public can explore with drinks in hand. Entertainment will include aerial dancers, fire dancers, jugglers, StoneLion Puppet Theatre, live music and more. A fashion show will feature the Park Place boutiques while all Park Place restaurants will line the streets with tents offering food and drink specials. Guests can pick up a "Park Place Passport" and get a stamp at each of the stores open late for the street party until 9:00 p.m., to enter for a chance to win prizes. For guests who want to stay at Park Place for the evening, Aloft Hotel will be offering a special "Stay and Play" rate for $89 a night.
In addition to an evening of fun, fashion and food, Paint the Night will serve as a fundraiser and educational opportunity for Children's Therapeutic Learning Center, the premier preschool for children with various special needs in the Kansas City area since 1947. As a fundraiser, attendees can donate to participate in a collaborative Paris mural provided by Pinot's Palette. The completed work of art will then be auctioned off as an additional fundraiser. In addition, Children's TLC will be present to educate the public on their therapeutic and educational services for children with disabilities, developmental delays and fragile medical conditions.
